Requirements

Persons 60 years of age and older who meet Florida residency requirements set forth in Rule 6C-7.05 and who attend credit classes in a state university may be allowed to enroll on a space available basis without payment of fees.

No academic credit shall be awarded for attendance in classes for which fees are waived under this rule. Courses, such as Independent Study or individual instruction for which direct costs increase for each student admitted are not available under this free course policy.

Registration

Students who wish to register for the Senior Citizen Audit should obtain the Florida Residents 60 Years of Age or Older Application and the Florida Residents 60 Years of Age or Older Fee Waiver Form from the OneStop.  The fee waiver form should be signed by the course instructor during the first week of courses for the semester and turned into the OneStop.

Students may also enroll in classes through the FIU Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Fees

Florida Residents 60 Years of Age or Older do not need to pay the $30 application fee. The Florida Residents 60 Years of Age or Older Fee Waiver does not cover the Photo ID fee.
