Which Credits Does FIU Accept?

FIU accepts transfer credits from accredited institutions, including those that participate in Florida’s Statewide Course Numbering System (SCNS).

The above statement is found in the TTS website.

Missing Transfer Credits

If you think there is an inconsistency in your Transfer Credit Report, please do not hesitate to reach out. Contact Transfer & Transition Services if the missing course is a lower division credit (UCC credits) or contact your advisor if it is an upper division credit (3000-4000/junior-senior level).

All Other Credits

Use the Transfer Equivalency Database(TED) to find the equivalent FIU course for your transfer credits. You can also use our Transfer Guides, but if you’re transferring from a private institution and/or out-of-state institution, use the prerequisite course titles as an initial reference.

Reverse Transfer

Reverse Transfer is a statewide articulation agreement to award the Associate in Arts (AA) degree to eligible students who transfer without earning the AA degree from a Florida public college (known as the Florida College System, or FCS) and subsequently complete the AA degree requirements at a Florida public university (known as the State University System, or SUS). Reverse Transfer provides eligible students the opportunity to earn the AA degree even after they have transferred.

See more information about the Reverse Transfer program here.

Don’t retake classes! If you think you’ve already taken a similar class at your previous institution, please contact us.
