The cost of attendance is different for undergraduate and online students. The Office of Financial Aid uses these costs to develop standard student budgets for awarding financial aid funds.

Calculate Costs & Aid

As an FIU student, you could be eligible for financial aid to cover part or all of your cost of attendance. Get an estimate of how much financial aid you could receive using the Net Price Calculator. Then, you can use the Tuition Calculator to get an idea of your individual costs including tuition, fees and estimated aid.

Educational Expenses

Your educational expenses can be categorized as either direct costs or indirect costs. Things you pay directly to FIU such as tuition and fees, books and supplies (if bought from the university bookstore), and on-campus housing and meal plans are considered direct costs. Anything not paid to the university is called an indirect costs, such as transportation or personal and miscellaneous expenses.
