The FIU Office of Scholarships provides incoming freshmen, transfer, international and current students with information and assistance to take advantage of scholarship opportunities available at the university.

Submit a request to create a scholarship that will be awarded using donated funds from the FIU Foundation use:
Apply for Scholarships
Visit FIU Scholarship Search and log in with your MyFIU username and password to search national and university-based scholarships. Complete the general application you'll be matched with scholarships you qualify for or just find one that works for you.
Types of Scholarships
- Need-based Scholarships
Need-based scholarships are based on your financial situation. Student are accepted based on expected family contribution (EFC). You must complete the FAFSA application to apply.
For need-based scholarships offered by the state of Florida you must be a Florida resident to qualify and complete the Florida Financial Aid Application (FFAA)
- Merit Scholarships (Undergrad Only)
FIU's commitment to academic excellence is highlighted through programs which honor students who are recognized as:
- National Merit Finalists
- National Hispanic Scholars
Additional awards for outstanding high school seniors and incoming transfers include:
- Presidential Scholars
- Ambassador Scholars
- Transfer Academic Achievement
- Gold and Blue Achievement (Flat Rate Scholarship)
- FIU RaiseMe* (Flat Rate Scholarship)

- Nationally Prestigious Scholarships and Fellowships
These are incredible scholarship opportunities to help fund graduate school and research opportunities both here and abroad. Many of these scholarships require university sponsorship, have intense application processes and require a serious commitment from students wishing to receive these awards.
For this reason, we have internal deadlines in place for students to submit their applications for consideration. The scholarship committee will then choose the strongest applications that will ultimately be submitted.

- FIU Departmental Scholarships
If your school or department offers a scholarship, find it and apply using the Scholarship Search.

- Grad School Funding
Graduate students pursuing a master or doctoral degree may qualify for assistantships, fellowships and other awards offered through individual academic units. To apply, contact the Dean's Office of your college or academic department. Visit Graduate Funding to find assistantships, fellowships and more.
- Non-FIU Scholarships
When searching for scholarships outside FIU, remember that all scholarship information should be available to you free of charge.

To receive aid from Non-FIU Scholarships, students must submit checks for funds to be posted on their account for processing.
