FAQs

How do I know if the CeCredential I received is valid?
There are two ways to validate your certified electronic credential:
1. Validate through the institution’s website by clicking the link on the 2nd page of the CeCredential and typing the necessary information where indicated.
2. If you are using Adobe Reader or Acrobat 9.0 or higher you will be able to view the Digital Signature which is part of the overall security of the document, detailed on the second page of the document.
Please note: Other PDF/web browsers and some mobile devices may not be able to read the Digital Signature.
Why does the certificate used to digitally sign the documents say CeCredential Trust?
CeCredential Trust is the branded name of the digital signature that Paradigm uses to digitally sign the CeCredential.
I am using a web browser to open the PDF, but it will not open properly.
The CeCredential is best viewed in Adobe Acrobat or Acrobat Reader. Some features may not be available when viewed in a web browser’s default viewer. Please change the default viewer in your web browser so that it utilizes Adobe Reader or Acrobat.
Attn. Mac users: When viewing an official electronic credential from the Institution, the software utilizes Adobe’s secure certified PDF technology and therefore may only be viewed using the free Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat 9.0 or higher. The default Mac preview application will not display the document correctly.
My digital signature is yellow and says, “The validity of the document certification is UNKNOWN. The author could not be verified.” What do I do?
Your trusted certificates may be out of date. In order to ensure that your digital signature can be properly read, make sure to update your AATL trusted certificates in the Trust Manager of Adobe Reader or Acrobat. To do this in Adobe Acrobat DC, go to Edit => Preferences => Trust Manager. Then, in the section for Automatic Adobe Approved Trust List (AATL) updates, click the Update Now button.
I don’t have a CeCredential available. Why not?
This service to students began with graduates from the Summer term of 2024 and is not retroactive.
What if I try to print my CeCredential?
The CeCredential has printing disabled as a security feature. Your CeCredential is official as long as it is in its original form.
Can I obtain a CeDiploma if I have an outstanding obligation due to the university?
If you have any outstanding obligations to the institution, you will not be eligible for the CeDiploma.
